Our Small Group Home is designated for children and teenagers from age four to 18 who are facing family problems and crises. There are eight children or teenagers in each of our three Small Group Homes. Of the eight children, one of them is a child or teenager with mild special needs. Our small group homes have a total capacity of 24 children or teenagers.
Meals and accommodation are provided when living in the Small Group Homes while parents or guardians of the children and teenagers are responsible for the children’s or teenagers' daily expenses including transportation cost, school expenses, medical fees, pocket money, etc. Those with financial difficulties should consult their referring workers.
Application should be submitted to the Integrated Family Service Centres of the Social Welfare Department or non-governmental organizations. Small Group Homes accept only applications made through the Central Referral System for Residential Child Care Services (CRSRC) and Central Referral System for Rehabilitation Services (CRS Rehab) of the Social Welfare Department.
It is always our help that a child will leave our service to reunite with her / his birth family or to join a loving adopting family. In general, children and teenagers can choose to be discharged from our small group home at any time. Mother's Choice may also request that a child or teenager leave our Small Group Homes for the following reasons:

If the child or teenager endangers other children and teenagers and / or staff living in the small group home.

If the child or teenager no longer meets the government’s eligibility criteria, e.g. s/he reaches 18 years old.

If our service no longer meets the needs of the child or teenager.
We believe that every child and teenager is different and unique. So prior to a discharge, we always try our very best to take appropriate measures helpful to the child or teenager.
